  • Responsible for delivering unmatched customer service by achieving productivity and shipping accuracy goals. Assist in directing, organizing, and controlling warehouse activities for our Western distribution center. Also responsible for implementing company operating policies, procedures and processes that achieve a safe, efficient, cost effective warehouse operation that exceeds customer service expectations.This is a single position that wears many hats throughout the day.


  • Constantly strive to instill a sense of pride and professionalism in co-workers and transportation personnel by ongoing daily communication and interaction.
  • Ensure quality service to our customers by meeting customer shipping requirements within the established time frames, overseeing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments, and by communicating to internal contacts any warehouse issues that may impact customers.
  • Manage the warehouse according to budget by ensuring accurate inventory and order selection, productivity, efficient utilization of storage space and equipment, and proper protection of stored materials and company assets.
  • Maintain safe work practices and housekeeping programs, as well as maintenance and upkeep of all equipment.
  • Oversee and execute all inventory control procedures ensuring maximum safeguard of the company’s physical inventory.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication avenues with all departments in Drexel Metals.
  • Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned.


  • Open warehouse in AM for Customer pick ups
  • Print the days work orders
  • Pick required material for the days orders/ control inventory accuracy
  • Prepare the completed orders for shipment via Drexel Truck or Common Carrier
  • Prepare all shipping documents for orders
  • Load orders by forklift for customer pick ups or onto Drexel Truck/Common Carriers
  • Work with Operation Manager and replenish inventory bi-weekly or as needed
  • Clean/sweep warehouse floor
  • Clean restrooms and office areas
  • Close up and secure warehouse at end of day
  • Must be able to work independently.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must have experience operating forklifts, and performing general shipping duties.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Experience with UPS, Fed-ex and Less than truckload (LTL) shipments a plus.
  • Basic computer literacy required.
  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Basic math and reading skills required.
  • CDL a plus
  • Bi-lingual a plus.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to write, answer phones, talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit.The noise level in the office work environment is minimal.
  • Some travel may be required
  • At year end must be able to lift boxes in order to clear out the file cabinets to make room for the new year.
  • General household cleaning and maintaining of warehouse stock areas.
  • Shipping + Receiving.
  • Will load and unload trailers.
  • Pick orders.
  • Receive material and set in locations.


  • Holder of this position is expected to possess/maintain training requirements needed for the position; including awareness of changes in the operational system and request additional training needed to perform the duties previously outlined.
