Job Summary:

Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated (CCM), a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an opening for a Transportation Supervisor in Chino, CA.  

Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and maintaining economical and efficient transportation services for the company. Other functions include the day to day supervision of the activities in the Shipping/Transportation department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily resource plan and prepare daily delivery schedule.
  • Conduct rate negotiations with carrier sales and audit carrier performance.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of the department's drivers.
  • Monitor/oversee driver and vehicle electronic logs including DOT hours, and submit payroll time sheets on bi-weekly basis.
  • Schedule all maintenance for trailers and tractors to comply with DOT regulations.
  • Timely follow-up of all accidents, incidents, and known violations of procedures.
  • Conduct yearly performance and goal objectives for Drivers, Shipping and Receiving employees.
  • Interface daily with production supervisors and production leads ensuring availability of product coincides with delivery schedule.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Education - Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Prior experience in a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor/Manager or General Manager role
  • Has working knowledge of DOT regulations and a logistics background
  • Previous training in loading of product and ability to coordinate efficient routes
  • Knowledge of computer systems and previous experience with programs such as Microsoft Office suite and SAP
  • Solid problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required
  • Strong time management and follow up skills
  • Understanding of math, written, and reading skills
