Job Description

Responsible for shipping finished goods and other items to customers and end users.





ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



* Pulls shipping docs and processes shipping paperwork such as packing slips, bills of lading, labels and other related shipping documents.
* Assists in training material handler.
* Assists in loading/unloading shipments to/from freight companies via forklift.
* Orders and controls all shipping receiving and warehouse supplies
* Plans daily and weekly workloads.
* Serves as liaison between the quality and sales departments
* Schedules carriers to pick up for shipments.
* Assures all orders to customers are prepared and shipped properly; i.e. boxes and reels are labeled properly, checklist is completed, footage shipped is correct, mode of shipment and destinations are correct.
* Assures that paperwork to accompany shipment is correct; i.e. packing lists, certs, test reports, bills of lading and paperwork that is to be distributed to sales, accounting, and production control.
* Performs other duties as assigned and maintains work area, equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly condition.
* Reports any problems or difficulties to the supervisor and obeys all safety rules.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (QED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.





CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* Forklift certification is required





LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, ratios, weights, and as needed to comply with job duties.



JOB SKILLS/TYPE OF PERSON

* Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
* Ability to perform problem solving
* Protective clothing or equipment may be required, and includes steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection.
* Writing skills required to complete documents and forms
* Operate various types of forklifts
