Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for supervising off-shift factory operations; coordinating and monitoring activities of Manufacturing Associates and maintaining optimum flow of quality work in all processes applicable to the manufacture of wire and cable products produced in the department.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



* Monitors assigned production orders to machine and inspects operation for conformance to standard method. Checks machines for proper operation, makes minor repairs and adjustment, insures work orders for repairs are submitted.
* Supervises production operations, ensures priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Notify production control of any possible delays. Monitors for tasking load.
* Assures Manufacturing Associates are trained in equipment operation, processing, housekeeping and safety procedures.
* Supervises off-shift operations such as moving completed material, taking inventory, performing daily and weekly audits for random audit inspections, 5S audits and metrics updates as necessary.
* Insures preparation of required reports such as excess material for return and raw material requests.
* Assists engineering as needed.
* Ensure work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly condition to meet 5S requirements
* Reports any problems, safety issues, abnormalities or quality issues to appropriate management.
* Plans and executes safety meetings as necessary. Monitors all Manufacturing Associates for safety compliance.
* Performs other related duties as required to meet the goals and objectives of the company.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises off-shift operations and employees in the factory. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assessing training for employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, managing off-shift Safety committee.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

ASTM F--2412--2005, ANSI Z41--1999, or ANSI Z41--1991 rated safety toed shoes and clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses are required for the job.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

None required.



LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to managers, clients, customers, and other employees of the organization.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills, using all units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals). Successfully pass application mathematics examination.



JOB SKILLS/TYPE OF PERSON

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

* This is an air conditioned facility with many pieces of equipment that produce heat. The following items are potential items you may encounter while employed here: fumes, dust, noise, hazardous/toxic chemicals. Appropriate training is provided and documented based on job placement that complies with OSHA and EPA regulations.
