Job Description

General Summary:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned.  Analyzes and interprets financial data and procedures to prepare financial information and reports.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze and reconcile bank statements, ledgers, reports, and financial records.
  • Experience with inter-company transactions
  • Reconciliation of balance sheets
  • Recommend and prepare adjustments, journal entries, reports, and fund transfers.
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules and statistical tables.
  • Analyze discrepancies against general ledger, journal entries with detailed schedules to support each balance sheet reconciliation, cash reconciliation, sales and use tax and various Ad Hoc Reports.
  • Request disbursements to maintain bank accounts. (Will soon consolidate this process with parent company.)
  • Monitor reserve accounts and short-term fund investments.
  • Prepare schedules for various funds and accounts for the Annual Audit; reconcile accounts with audit outcomes.
  • Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and footnotes for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
  • Maintain accurate financial records.
  • Analyze transactions for correct coding and assignment of revenues and expenditures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of5 to 7 years of General Accounting experience
  • MBA or CPA certification is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting, research and analytical skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
  • Knowledge of computer software, including applications (ERP Systems)
  • Macola Exact Software background helpful, not required
  • Previous experience performing Financial Reporting using HFM is a plus
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Advanced in Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
