Job Description



SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, the Return Material Authorization (RMA) Technician is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and sustaining systemic parameters to streamline and maximize the overall quality and efficiency of product returns


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Lead the identification, development, and application of elements of the RMA process, including record control, timely and accurate assessments, material processing and handling, and overall material flow
* Perform material assessments to identify required materials and labor hours for successful rework, and generate detailed quality notifications outlining the nature of returns, dispositions for rework, and records of transactions
* Write and issue Authorized Release Certificates, FAA Form 8130-3, Airworthiness Approval Tags
* Assist in the monitoring and execution of data collection plans
* Monitor and track information within spreadsheets and databases, as well as action item commitments and due dates, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely completion of commitments and activities while achieving high levels of quality performance
* Support data flow and identification on area continuous improvement boards
* Support kaizen activity and related activities
* Conduct internal audits of RMA systems and assign corrective actions as necessary
* Support manufacturing operations, including quality trending and data analysis, and assist with containment initiatives
* Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* 3+ years of relevant quality or manufacturing experience
* High School diploma

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* None

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Articulate with use of good grammar skills.
* A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
JOB SKILLS

* Experience within the Aerospace Industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred
* Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
* Strong technical skills including the ability to read and understand technical drawings
* Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and can use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & associated software efficiently
* Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross functional group of individuals
* Self-starter that can work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines
