Job Description

Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, performs complex dimensional inspections of product to verify conformance to Tri-Star Electronics and customer requirements.



Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Able to inspects first product for conformance to specifications. Checks for defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete solder/welding.
* Able to verify specific dimensions of product or material, using inspection such as fixed gauges, templates, and preset micrometers, venire height gauges, and dial indicators.
* May be required to read work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedures and equipment to be used.
* May be required to test performance of parts and subassemblies under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity.
* Must be able to analyze test results on defective parts to determine cause of failure.
* Responsible for maintaining documentation in Inspection Log and Weekly Summary Reports.
* Ensures tools are clean, maintained and calibrated.





Language Skills:

* Must communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to employees at all levels.
* Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and basic blueprints.



Reasoning Ability:

* Able to perform simple math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
* Must be able to understand departmental documentation and be able to process accurately.



Additional Skills and Experience Preferable (Not Required):

* One- year certificate from college or technical school or a minimum six months in equivalent experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* At least two-years prior experience in a Quality Inspection environment.



Physical Demands:

* This position may use a computer terminal to access, input, and retrieve data.
* This position may be subject to on the job interruptions that may cause a change in priorities and/or work focus.
* While performing duties of this position, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, and/or bend.
* May occasionally lift and/or move up files or boxes up to 30 pounds.
* May be subjected to occasional irregular or extended work hours.
* Must be able to work in an environment that may be subject to occasional loud noises, hazardous materials and chemicals.







Skills and/or Experience Needed:

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Must be able use hand tools: caliper, micrometer and crimp tools.
* Must have basic knowledge of Oracle with the ability to perform transactions in computer.
* 2 years of directly related inspection experience is required.
