Job Description

This position is responsible for administering the total quality assurance program; encompassing the planning, evaluation, inspection and reporting on all quality aspects of a product from its conception through manufacturing, fabrication, storage and delivery with intent to provide an optimum quality product at the lowest cost.

• Develop and implement uniform quality control policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and control documentation process for all quality and reliability requirements.
• Work with manufacturing sites on elimination of defects.
• Implement and promote quality control culture / zero defect within the organization.
• Advise operations on quality assurance issues.
• Review engineering test procedures to ensure that proper testing is completed and documented prior to new product release.
• Ensure proper documentation of manufacturing processes is developed and maintained.
• Revise the quality system as necessary to continually meet customer requirements using the Lean and 6-Sigma methodologies.
• Supervise the inspection group, which are engaged in a variety of quality assurance issues.
• Investigate and provide corrective action for any product failures in the field.
• Facilitate and provide leadership on company initiatives towards continuous improvement.
• Organize and implement the quality audit/inspection function.
• Support purchasing in the development of our vendor base and ensure that all specifications are met by setting up vendor audit process and procedure.
• Review all new and / or revised company products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Has the responsibility and authority to ensure that customer requirements are addressed. This includes selection of special characteristics, setting quality objectives and related training, corrective and preventative actions and product design and development.
• Support Operations in all quality related issues including short-term problem solving and long-term systems issues.
• Maintain all Quality reporting documents.
• Work with customers on complex quality requirements.
• Maintain the QMS and EMS intranet site.
• Ensure that ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards and requirements are adhered to and met.

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Masters Degree a plus. Advanced degree may be substituted with at least 10 years experience in a heavy manufacturing quality area.

Minimum of 7 - 10 years of progressively responsible work experience in quality control and engineering reliability for a manufacturing company, preferably in an engineering based position in a Lean, pull-type, reduced inventory production system. Black Belt / Green Belt training and / or certification in Six Sigma principles is preferred.
