Job Description


SUMMARY:
The Quality Inspector performs receiving, in-process, and final inspection of cable and connector components, CNC parts, and cable assemblies as well as other quality related activities when required.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
QA Inspector 1- CTQ024 -Quality Inspector I

* The ability to perform the following types of inspections; Incoming / Receiving inspection, Final Inspection of connectors and cable, Inspection of parts requiring external operations, Incoming Raw Materials and internal requests for inspection using inspection tools and Engineering specifications.
* Video / Optical Measurement Systems -- The ability to use video / optical Measurement systems.
* J-Std 001 Inspection -- Certification to J-Std 001 for solder connection inspection.
* CAPA Data Entry -- The ability to create any of the three CAPA's, CCAPA (Customer), ICAPA (Internal) and SCAPA (Supplier).
* Hardness Testing -- The ability to perform hardness tests on materials when required.
* Inspection hand tools -- The ability to use various inspection tools and gauges to determine part acceptability.

QA Inspector 2 CTQ025 -Quality Inspector II

* Cleanroom Final Inspection -- To be certified in the cleanroom garbing procedure and perform the required final inspections and documentation in the cleanroom environment.
* Mandatory Inspection Point-- The ability to perform MIP workmanship inspections.
* X-Ray Operation -- To be certified to operate the X-Ray Machines.
* J-Std 001 Space Inspection Certification -- Certification to J-Std 001 for inspection of Space Grade solder connections
* Internal Audit -- The ability to perform elements of the internal audit as a team member.
* A/B Inspection and Test -- The ability to perform required A/B testing in the cleanroom.
* End Item Data Package -- The ability to support the creation or inclusion of the End Item Data Packet documentation.
* SCAPA Process -- The ability to generate SCAPA's when required and communicate the nonconformances to the supplier.
* AS9100 Corrective Action Verification -- The ability to verify and document the effectiveness of corrective actions.

QA Inspector 3 CTQ026 -Quality Inspector III

* CNC Inspection & Tooling Review -- The ability to review Dept. 4300 third party prints, for gauging requirements and potential quality issues.
* X-Ray Interpretation-- To be certified to evaluate for acceptance, x-rays taken during the production processes.
* Source Inspection Guide -- The ability to provide support to external source inspectors, when required, throughout the facility.
* Setup Validation and In-process Inspection -- The ability to perform validation of setups and in-process inspections in Dept. 4300.
* Automated Measurement System Programmer -- The ability to create part programs on the various automated measurement systems.
* Source Coordinator -- The ability to coordinate, manage, provide all required documentation needed for an external source inspection.
* MRB Team Member -- The ability to assist with the Dept. 4300 MRB process, providing inspection data on nonconformances found during production.
* Abnormality Response Team Member -- The ability to use problem solving tools as a member of the Abnormality Response Team.
* Calibration -- The ability to use the calibration database as well as perform and document calibrations following the specific calibration work instructions.
* SCAPA Process -- The ability to generate SCAPA's when required and communicate the nonconformances to the supplier.
* AS9100 Corrective Action Verification -- The ability to verify and document the effectiveness of corrective actions.
* PDR/CDR Release -- The ability to perform the quality function in the PDR/CDR release process.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


* High school education or equivalent.
* Two (2) years' experience in a manufacturing environment, inspection experience preferred.
* Basic computer skills, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:


* ASQ Certification preferred
* J-STD-001 and J-STD-001 Space Addendum Certification preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic high school equivalent mathematical skills.
