SUMMARY:
The Quality Inspector performs receiving, in-process, and final inspection of cable and connector components, CNC parts, and cable assemblies. The quality inspector also performs random internal audits of the production process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

LEVEL 1
* Use of standard metrology tools such as Micrometers, Digital Indicators, Comparators, Plain Plugs, Plain Rings, Thread Plugs & Rings, Profilometer.
* Ability to measure accurately and record clear, concise data on internal and external documents.
* Use microscopes to make pass/fail decisions for attribute defects based on customer requirements / standards.
* Basic Blueprint & engineering specification interpretation.
* Performs final inspection of products and materials using engineering drawings and Process Control Drawings as required. Completes final inspection reports and first article inspection reports as required.
* Ability to work within the requirements of an ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality system.
* Willingness to work in a flexible environment and is willing to be cross trained on multiple products and processes.
* Ability to generate material non-conformance reports.
* Good communication skills with co-workers, engineering, and varying support personnel.
* Ability to execute tasks assigned with minimum supervision.
* Basic computer skill sets including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

LEVEL 2
* Able to work in a clean room environment supporting space grade cable assembly production.
* Learn and maintain X-Ray Evaluator certification for finished product.
* Ability to conduct an internal audit of the production process and complete audit reports.

LEVEL 3
* Ability to program advanced measurement systems such as Micro-Vu, Keyence, OGP SmartScope.
* Ability to Fixture and run parts on advanced measurement systems.
* Proficient with GD&T.
* Perform internal calibrations when required.
* Perform setup, in-process & final inspections following a Quality Inspection Plan and maintain third party quality records.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

* High school education or equivalent.
* Two (2) years' experience in a manufacturing environment, inspection experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

* ASQ Certification preferred
* J-STD-001 and J-STD-001 Space Addendum Certification preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to perform basic high school equivalent mathematical skills.
