SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Quality Control Supervisor, the Quality Inspector I is responsible for using measurements, tests, and associated standards to inspect and validate characteristics of basic components and assemblies



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Review characteristics of basic assemblies against engineering documentation to confirm conformance to approved design data
* Review purchase order information to confirm customer flowdown requirements are met for basic assemblies
* Complete First Article Inspection (FAI) paperwork for basic assemblies, and review paperwork for material and process certifications to ensure traceability
* Bag and label finished basic assemblies, and complete in full all associated quality paperwork
* Identify and document suspect or validated nonconforming product, and assist with the Material Review Board (MRB) process for disposition

* Support data flow and identification on area data tracking and continuous improvement boards

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Carlisle IT Franklin is a clean facility housing different kinds of machinery, equipment, processes and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Two year technical degree in an engineering or related field, or 2+ years of relevant quality and manufacturing experience within an ISO controlled and/or government regulated environment
* Experience within the Aerospace Industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred
* Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
* Strong technical skills including the ability to read and understand technical drawings
* Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and is able to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & associated software efficiently
* Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross functional group of individuals
* Self-starter that is able to work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines



CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* Active IPC-WHMA-A-620 certification required

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* The employee must have a working comprehension of the English language complimented with workplace levels of grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills
