Job Description



To perform routine visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspection and functional tests at the First Article Receiving, In-Process, and Final inspection stages of component or finished assemblies.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Performs assigned inspection on raw materials, components, or finished assemblies.
• Records inspection results.
• Performs detailed visual inspection.
• Audits documentation & processes of production departments.
• Submits a weekly summary report of inspected material to Lead Inspector.
• Performs inspection on Engineering prototype and suppliers first article samples and generates inspection reports (as applicable).
• Reviews technical data packages of assigned source inspection lots.
• Job requires walking 20%, standing 20%, and sitting 60%.
• Frequent use of a microscope.
• Occasional heavy lifting (10LBS to 25LBS).
• Review customer Specification and quality notes from purchase order.
• Perform First Article Inspection per AS9102
• Assists in the calibration of measuring and test equipment.
• Assists in the review of customer material returns and the completion of the Returned Material Reports (RMR's).
• Assists in the investigation of customer corrective action and failure analysis requests.

Physical Demands:

• Combined sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day to accomplish tasks.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing, crouching or stooping on a frequent basis.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to use computer for extended periods of time.
• Walking 20%, standing 20%, sitting 60%, lifting 25 LBS. or less.



* Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector.
* High school or technical school education, or equivalent, with mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry emphasis.
* Good knowledge of blueprint reading and dimensioning tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M
* Hand dexterity, coordination, and accuracy.
* Ability to perform written and oral communications and special reports.
* Ability to communicate & interface well with a wide range of people.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
