Carlisle Fluid Technologies has an immediate opportunity for a Quality Engineer in our Jackson, TN Facility.



Purpose: Continuously improve the quality of Angola plant products and services. Maintain and improve our ISO quality management system to ensure that our processes are documented accurately and meet the true interpretation of the ISO 9001:2015 standards. Educate employees on their role and responsibility in supporting the quality management system.



Primary Responsibilities:




• Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the company's ISO quality standards to be in compliance with ISO registration.
• Develop incoming inspection sampling plans, verity effectiveness of supplier and in-house corrective actions, and managed first piece approval plans.
• Inspect incoming parts in accordance with the ISO incoming inspection work instructions to ensure conformance with quality standards.
• Inspect questionable parts routed to the production department in accordance with ISO floor inspection instructions.
• Investigate non-conformances from prescribed quality standards to determine reasons for defect or malfunctions and the effect of deviations on product requirements.


• Read and understand blueprints required to perform precise dimensional inspection techniques.


• Operate coordinate measuring machine, optical comparators, profilometers and hardness testers; use general inspection tools, such as plug, ring, and thread gages, set gages, height gates and sine blocks.
• Coordinate with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Production to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
• Communicate with Quality Manager, Engineers, and outside vendors in regard to discrepant parts concerns. Understand ISO procedures regarding first article inspections and CAR's.
• Prepare necessary documentation to record inspection results, deviations and generate corrective actions.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
• Perform other related duties as needed and assigned.
• Travel to customers and suppliers as needed to perform root cause investigations and conduct supplier audits.





QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Quality Engineering with a quality background; three years of inspection experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of Microsoft Office software, CMM operating system software and blueprint reading; above average interpersonal communication skills; proficiency in geometry and trigonometry; familiarity with A3 and 8D problem solving, interest in pursuing green belt / black belt certification.



MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Concentration and close attention, manual dexterity and fine motor skills, lifting light-weight material, stand or sit at a work table. Occasionally required to lift or move medium weight materials, bend, reach and crouch.
