Job Summary:

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leader of  building products and related technology has an immediate opening for a Quality Control Technician, at its Puyallup, WA location. This position will be responsible for performing all UL testing, ensuring all materials comply with UL requirements.  The position also requires that quality inspections be performed on all production processes, including product loaded for delivery.  All inspections and test results must be entered into the company database and documented for quarterly UL audits.  The position must work closely with supervision and management to standardize product quality, ensure quality standard operating procedures are being followed, routinely dispositions product placed on hold and keep QC manuals and records up to date.  Act as a plant liaison to the Technical Center.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and record all UL testing.
  • Prepare for and pass quarterly UL audits.
  • Perform daily quality inspections on cut and laminated products, confirming product meet standards and dimensional tolerances.
  • Support the focus of zero defects and compliance of quality standards.  Interface with supervision daily to ensure workforce is compliant.
  • Review quality records for legibility, completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist with training of employees on QC standard operating procedures or standard work.
  • Conduct 1st Article inspections.
  • Monitors production results for deviations and initiates investigations when results do not comply with standards or QC requirements.  Provide assessment and initiate countermeasures that will resolve issue(s).
  • Perform data entry as required
  • Conduct daily cycle counts.
  • Assist supervisor with researching customer complaints and seeking countermeasures.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Candidates must have 1- 5 years in QC technician position; experience with working in the plastic industry is preferable.  Experience with implementing an effective quality control program is a plus. The candidate must have the ability to operate testing equipment, use calipers, tape measures and other testing tools.  Must have the ability to communicate effectively with supervision and hourly workforce. Also, the candidate must possess good analytical and problem solving skills. A high school diploma or GED is required.
