Job Description


Through the use of the Carlisle Operating System and subordinate staff; plans, organizes, controls and directs the activities and material of all Quality Control functions including Receiving Inspection, FAI Department, MRB/RMA in order to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives


* Coordinate flow of Receiving Inspection, FAI, Conformity Inspection, MRB and RMA based on scheduled customer orders, established priorities and availability/capability of inspectors
* Determine and manage capacity requirements for all Quality Control departments
* Reviews and plans upcoming demand for all production areas and communicate any spikes and risks to Scheduling Department
* Support Quality Engineering in any corrective/preventive actions for non-detection
* Participate in AS9100 activities as determined by Quality Management
* Participate in the development of Quality Strategic Planning (QSP), Cost of Quality, Measuring Quality and other measurement activities to provide organization with stronger tools to analyze quality performance
* Assist other supervisors and management to ensure utilization of personnel, equipment and facilities is efficient and resources are maximized
* Demonstrate support of the Carlisle Operating System and LeanSigma to staff and how these tools enhance their daily performance
* Develop an atmosphere that encourages employee participation in the Carlisle Operating System
* Motivate and counsel employees in preserving an efficient and productive workplace
* Introduce new methods/techniques to improve quality and/or efficiency thru corrective/preventive actions, Project Management, Six Sigma projects
* Interface with all levels of Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance staff
* Maintain and promote a safe working environment
* Implement continuous improvement ideas and suggestions using the tools of LeanSigma
* Develop and monitor all Quality Control metrics to align with Production's schedules and needs
* Work all schedules, including assigned weekends, as needed and requested by management
* Fair and consistent application of Carlisle handbook guidelines and values.


* Responsible for the direction, coordination and evaluation of Quality Control personnel. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance to company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws
* Responsibilities include interview, hire and train employees; plan, assist and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems through conflict resolution
* Provide ongoing cross-training to applicable staff to develop and encourage their technical and operational performance. Meet with appropriate staff on a timely basis for performance evaluations and goal setting
* Ensure company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all Production department functions
* Display effective leadership as defined by the Carlisle IT Model Manager guidelines.


* Other duties as required in support of the department and company


* High School diploma or equivalent and/or college related courses
* General understanding of Quality Assurance Systems and Applications, such as AS9100 or equivalent
* Certified Quality Engineer certificate is preferred
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Three to five years directly related supervisory experience
* Ability to lead cross-functional team efforts and manage internal projects
* Able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings, specifications and other engineering documentation
* Ability to communicate effectively showing excellent written and verbal communication skills with a diverse group of people
* Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
