Job Description

Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturerof premium building products and related technology, has an immediate openingfor a Shift Supervisor in its Tooele, Utah Membrane location.

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the manufacturing lines,assisting in improvement projects, managing 10-30 production employees,implementation of Company policies and procedures, maintaining a safe workingenvironment, and producing a product that meets production specifications andcustomer expectations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate all activities or production.
  • Supervise all Company safety rules and regulations as well as implementation of Company policies and procedures.
  • Document performance appraisals, disciplinary action, accident/injury reports, etc. for employees that directly supervise.
  • Manage employees time and attendance.
  • Develop training plan for all production positions and ensure proper training is received.
  • Produce a quality product within specifications and inspect the product for quality defects.
  • Implementation of Company continuous improvement initiatives.


  • Education- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.  Bachelor's degree in operations, manufacturing, engineering, business, or other technical area a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous supervisory/management experience.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to lead people and get results from others.
  • Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
  • Knowledge of computer systems: Word, Excel, Outlook, production data base, etc.
  • SAP experience not required but a plus.
  • Understand the fundamentals of coaching, counseling, and feedback.
  • Comprehension/understanding of reading, speaking, and math skills.
  • Ability to measure performance of standards and goals.
  • Efficient problem-solving skills and ability to work in stressful work situations.
  • Experience with data analysis and root cause investigations.

Physical Demands:

  • This position performs activities that require sitting, standing, walking, climbing, sight and hearing, stooping, bending, and being able to push, pull, lift, and lower up to 40 lbs.
