Job Description

Ultimate RB, a Carlisle Company, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor for its facility in Delphos, OH.  The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising all plant direct and indirect employees assigned to meet manufacturing requirements.  This position plans and assigns the daily and weekly work tasks, supports the implementation of company policies, procedures and ensures that the team is working in a safe manner to achieve the expected quality standards while recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Work hours for this position are 4 p.m. to 3 a.m.  There is a daily Production Meeting at 4:20 p.m. and a weekly Supervisor Meeting on Thursdays at 3 p.m.  Special projects and events may require modified scheduling in order to attend meetings held on days.  Days worked are normally Monday through Thursday, however Friday work has been required during peak production times.  On occasion, Saturday work may be required when demand is heavy.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe work practices throughout the shift
  • Communicate job expectations to plant employees
  • Continuously monitor plant resources and employee activities. Report existing and potential issues that may impede efficient production or employee safety
  • Schedule production runs for product types and monitor workflow
  • Ensure and maintain the efficient operation of plant equipment and cleanliness of plant along with adherence to quality standards 
  • Perform incident investigations
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping along with issuing write-ups as required
  • Recognize personnel that are consistently meeting or exceeding expectations
  • Develop lead operators and ensure they remain engaged within the process
  • Develop ‘Best Practices’ and recognize exceptional team performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
  • 2 years of related supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity and inventory processes
  • Knowledge of computer software, including applications (ERP Systems, Microsoft Suite)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills
  • Lead by example and ensure accountability of the team assigned

Physical Requirements:

This position is located in a manufacturing plant. The work may require standing and walking up to 85% of the time.  Sitting at a desk and in meetings, standing to observe subordinates and production-related issues, walking in order to inspect products and move from area to area, lifting of 55 lbs. when training employees or when assisting in work areas, stooping to look at defects, bending to inspect areas of equipment at floor level, climbing onto and into machines for operational troubleshooting after ensuring proper lock-out/tag-out procedures have been followed, crawling to gain access to equipment at floor level, hearing and sight to make observations, train others and communicate with personnel.  The working environment is generally favorable, but there are conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.  Some duties may be performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available.
