Job Description

Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has immediate openings on second shift for full time Production Operator positions at its Lake City, FL location.  This position is responsible for operation of equipment used in the production of PolyIso insulation products.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assemble Cool-Vent
  • Cut feet and blocks
  • Set up, operation and upkeep of equipment – saws, foam head, compounding equipment
  • Operate dust collection and robotic stacking equipment
  • Assist as needed with all steps of the production process to ensure the safe and timely production of quality material
  • Ensure safety compliance
  • Participate in the plant’s continuous improvement process
  • Other production responsibilities as needed and assigned

Skills & Requirements:

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior machine operator experience required
  • Six months’ prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Math skills and capability to calculate square footage and batch sizes
  • Ability to follow processing specifications and quality standards
  • Ability to use measurement devices such as gauges and tape measures
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts, up to 6 days per week

Physical Demands:

  • For this position, it is required to be able to lift up to 65 pounds
  • There is a repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping and pushing and pulling
  • Temperature changes throughout the year (hot in summer months, cold in winter months)
  • In addition, this position requires the following abilities: standing, walking, lifting, reaching above shoulders, bending, and twisting

Work Environment:

This position is in a warehouse-type facility subject to ambient and outside temperatures; exposure to loud machinery, dust, and mechanical parts.  Work surfaces are primarily concrete and operators will stand while performing their respective job functions.  Business is cyclical and may require flexibility in the days of the week worked.  Overtime will be required as needed.
