PRODUCTION MANAGER

Job Summary:

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an immediate opening for a Production Manager for its facility in McMinnville, OR.

The Production Manager has the responsibility of overseeing manufacturing and assisting with improvement projects while reducing operating cost. The primary role of the position is to produce a product safely that meets production specification and customer expectations, strong leadership skills, and the application of Lean Manufacturing principles. This job has full supervisory responsibilities. Must be able to effectively assign duties, coach and develop employee’s abilities, train, evaluate and discipline subordinate employees in a fair, consistent and non-confrontational manner.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise activities of Production staff.
  • Direct and coordinate activities associated with the production department including scheduling adequate staffing to meet required output.
  • Supervise all plant safety rules and regulations and communicating proper safety orientations and training.
  • Document yearly performance reviews on employees.
  • Document incident, disciplinary action, accident/injury reports when needed.
  • Assist in developing job procedures and standard work.
  • Inspect material for quality defects.
  • Develop and monitor 5S procedures.
  • Work with the temporary agency to staff the production line with temporary employees as needed.
  • Assist in training of new team members. Develop training plan for all production positions and ensure that employees are properly trained in any position that they are assigned.
  • Direct production team toward performance that align with company goals.
  • Produce products according to specifications
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Review and responsibility of Financial performance
  • Develop and oversee internal cost savings programs
  • Ensure prompt and accurate production reporting within SFIS and SAP.
  • Travel to remote sites to support various manufacturing initiatives and best practice sharing.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering required.
  • Minimum of (3) years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience interacting with and leading a variety of personnel levels and work teams
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Six Sigma and Lean background is a plus.
