Job Description

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has immediate openings for a Production Lead at its Coatings and Waterproofing Division located in Wylie, TX.  The Production Lead will lead personnel by providing guidance and direction to the front-line production team.  This position will oversee the day-to-day production of liquid-applied and sprayable duct sealants, industrial grade duct tape, and other liquid waterproofing and insulation barrier products.  This position will work a rotating 10-hour shift including days, nights and weekends.

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assigns job duties and tasks to production staff
  • Provide job training to production staff as required
  • Assist with employee cross-training and development as needed
  • Conduct shift-start up meetings
  • Confer with management on team performance and policy enforcement
  • Assist with coordinating the production schedule with other departments such as maintenance, shipping, receiving, etc.
  • Documenting and verifying production data reports and countermeasures
  • Be aware of internal quality specifications and communicate quality requirements to the floor
  • Enforce safety procedures and identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions
  • Lead front-line continuous improvement activities – 5S and Standard Work sustainment, COS improvements, audits, and SQDC actions
  • Safely operate both a standup and sit-down forklift
  • Assist in operating production lines as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three to five years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with computers including Microsoft Office programs
  • Problem solving aptitude in order to diagnose root cause and solutions
  • Ability to coordinate and lead others most commonly through “lead by example” techniques
  • Ability to safely operate standup and sit-down forklifts
  • Ability to read measuring gauges including tape measures, calipers, and scales
  • Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in fast-paced situations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred

Work Environment:

This position is in a warehouse-type facility subject to ambient and outside temperatures; exposure to loud machinery, dust, and mechanical parts.  Work surfaces are primarily concrete and operators will stand while performing their respective job functions.  Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in the days of the week worked.  This position typically works 10 hour shifts, including weekends as necessary. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally
  • Repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping, pushing, and pulling
