CIT-Pottstown has an exciting opportunity for a Process Quality Engineer to join our Quality Team.

The Process Quality Engineer is responsible for the study of process stability and capability as well as improvements. Responsibilities include driving continuous improvement with our supplier community, improving supplier performance metrics, and process development best practices. This requires good product and process knowledge, problem solving, and communication skills in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

* Knowledge of statistical methods including statistical process control, design of experiments, and process certification.
* Conduct process mapping utilizing SIPOC (supplier-input-process-output-customer) analysis methods.
* Create FMEA's for existing and new processes. Facilitate action plans to address items with high RPN's.
* Develop test methods and control plans.
* Perform process capability studies (CpK) on unstable manufacturing processes or raw materials to determine what variables must be controlled to improve quality. Drive implementation of process controls.
* Publish Daily/Weekly/Monthly process metrics.
* Analyze and report on quality trends. Lead teams to improve products and processes.
* Support internal audit program. Collaborate with process owners on audit designs. Train auditors and review findings.
* Support product qualification activity with statistical analysis as required.
* Support of Receiving, In-process, and Final inspections and resolve issues with suppliers.
* Drive material review board and corrective actions.
* Facilitate supplier performance audits at supplier facilities.
* Support and resolve quality notifications, SCARS, CAPA and RMA's with suppliers and in conjunction with Purchasing.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Physical Demands: Ability to lift to 25 lbs.

Travel requirements are 10% to 20% and may fluctuate based on business issues and supplier performance levels. Almost all travel would be within the USA, with very little international travel at this time. Primary travel requirements would be associated with supporting supplier development including process improvements, audits, supplier relationship meetings, kaizen events, etc.

* Four-year technical degree from accredited institution in an engineering or quality field. Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
* 3-5 years experience in process engineering or quality engineering role in a job shop and process engineering environment producing high reliability products.
* Expert knowledge of SPC, performing stability and capability studies, determining, monitoring and controlling key process variables, creating FMEA's, performing root cause analysis and Supplier Quality Management
* Six Sigma experience (green or black belt preferred). Use of quality improvement tools, problem solving and lean manufacturing.
* Maintenance of a quality management system, preferably AS9100 compliant.
* Primary contact in supplier relationships as quality representative.
* Strong cross functional communication skills and ability to drive results.

Ability to read, write documents in English, using correct grammar, punctuation, spelling and to communicate effectively over the telephone as well as face-to-face using proper grammar. Additionally, one must be able to understand the scope of a collection of procedures and how they relate to the internal methods in practice in all operations.

* Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for success in this job. Must be able to effectively communicate with all departments.
* Maintains a highly professional relationship with suppliers
* Use of basic office software tools including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of statistical software packages such as Minitab or equivalent.
* Basic understanding of database applications and potential solutions.
* Ability to plan and complete a variety of project types.
* Capability to plan and manage a personal schedule.
* SAP experience preferred.
