Job Summary:

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer, in its Greenville, IL facility. The Process Engineer has the responsibility to develop, analyze, and implement new or modified process technology, products, equipment and systems for all Greenville manufacturing processes.  This individual will be responsible for leading and developing a staff of six technicians and operators.  The Process Engineer will provide support throughout the plant to effectively improve quality and productivity, while reducing operating costs and supporting the plant’s dedication to Lean Manufacturing.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Use process data to identify weaknesses and develop methods, materials, modifications and training needed to obtain improvement.
  • Verify and maintain control of production processes and variability through the development, writing, issuing and revision of written process specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance throughout the facility to resolve problems relating to materials, methods, and equipment.  Utilize extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective measures.
  • Assume leadership and responsibility for various projects, including:  introduction of new technology, cost reduction, support of manufacturing trials, & experimentation for the development of new products and processes.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives through training, participation in kaizen events, and assisting with the training & coaching of others.
  • Utilize and train others in the use of statistical process control methods to identify factors influencing process stability.

Job Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required. Three to five years of prior experience in a technical role in a rubber or plastic manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. Candidates must be knowledgeable of quality systems and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as have the ability to quickly learn new systems in order to complete assignments.  Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization are also required.
