Process Engineer Internship

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an opening for a Process Engineer Intern, for the summer of 2019 at our Greenville, IL  location. This is a full time paid internship.

Project Summary:

This internship will be tasked with supporting several plant initiatives. This will include a process engineering study to de-bottleneck a pressure sensitive adhesive extrusion process as well as optimize process steps in a PVC sheeting operation

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble a process flow diagram for pressure sensitive tape process as part of the de - bottlenecking project
  • Investigate new technologies to improve pressure sensitive process, this could include gauge control, throughput, or controls systems
  • PVC Sheeting line planned maintenance review and update
  • Gravimetric feeder optimization study
  • Investigate alternative line materials


  • Candidate must be pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science
  • Must be of a sophomore or higher status
  • Interest in plastics or rubber processing and equipment is strongly preferred
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA required

Additional Information:

Candidates must be available to work full-time the entire duration of the internship: May 2019-August 2019.  A formal presentation to an internal audience will be required at the completion of the project.
