Job Description

Under limited supervision, perform a wide variety of potting and molding operations to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner. Although the potting room is the primary responsibility of the EAII Potting Technician, this person must also be able to work on the Manufacturing floor as needed.


* To complete the potting, molding and assembly operations of Electrical components by means of acceptable processing
* Must be willing and able to work with chemicals and materials with known hazardous classification using appropriate safety equipment while following safe material handling procedures
* With proper training, is capable of reading and understanding Material Safety Data Sheets and identifying chemicals
* Follow all potting room maintenance procedures, including material storage and equipment calibration
* Able to read technical papers for instructions on correctly mixing chemicals.
* Responsible for keeping the potting room clean and organized
* Utilize hand tools and automated machines and components in conjunction with customer drawings parts list, bill of materials, wire diagrams, schematics, tables and work instructions
* Lean Manufacturing knowledge
* Build simple to complex wire and fiber cables and rack assemblies using standard work documents to a high level of quality and efficiency
* Identify wires with use of basic color code sequence, wire codes, wire charts or diagrams
* Assist in the training and development of other assemblers as needed
* Complete paperwork clearly and accurately relating to the building of cable assemblies
* Assist with first article and/or NPI assemblies as needed
* Demonstrate a high level of creativity
* Continuously look for ways to improve and increase quality and efficiency
* Interface with engineers as required
* Regular and predictable on-site attendance
*Optional Training: Soldering to Class 2 acceptability requirements.
*Other duties as required in support of the department and the company*

* This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities

* Proven proficiency with a 90% and above average score and maintain active status in the below Carlisle IT Technical training courses:

* IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS Certification (All modules)
* J-STD-001 CIS Certification (All modules)
* Basic math and reading skills required

* ESD and FOD awareness courses and any other training found to be required
* Kaizen participation 1X yearly, Lean manufacturing workshop training
* Excellent written and communication skills to include following verbal and written instructions using standard work documents, Material Safety Data Sheets and chemical mixing/preparation instructions
* Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills
* Able to work with minimal supervision
* Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands
* Able to adapt to schedule changes with a positive attitude and detail oriented
* Understanding of and experience in Lean manufacturing environment
* Show intuitive mechanical skills

* High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

* 1+ years' experience as EA II, EAIIF or EAIIQ
Must maintain industry certifications as applicable to position and value stream that is supported. Including but not limited to; IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-JSTD-001, IPC-610, IPC-600 and NASA 8739

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
