General Summary:
The Plant Engineer will be responsible for project implementation, improve process efficiency, the conception, design and development of new products and evaluate the processes and flows of production for efficiency. They will also lead the everyday function of the Maintenance staff.

Essential Functions:

•Evaluate existing workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.

• Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process.
• Create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals as well as performance quotas.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaboration and cohesion.
• Establish an effective and efficient work sequence.
• Devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems.
• Develop standardized design criteria across all product lines.
• Managing projects from start to finish including work order management and budget of contractors.
• Ability to present technical information and effectively communicate within all levels of the organization around; design verification and validation of activities, production & process controls, and plan/product improvement.
• Demonstrated understanding of plant layout & design, and manufacturing/production process control methodologies.
• Supervises the hiring of maintenance personnel, organizing work schedules, and assign work activity. Performs training to ensure individuals have all the requisite skills. Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing maintenance procedures and maintaining personnel records. Evaluates each worker's performance to ensure quality operations.
• Perform all other duties as needed by the Plant Manager

Qualifications/Experience/Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing with a background in plant layout and automation.

• Project development preferred

• Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures including quality systems.

• Lean Six-Sigma experience a plus

• Minimum of 2 years Supervisory Experience required.

• Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity and inventory processes

• Skilled in using Microsoft Suite, Auto CAD and Solid Works or equivalent 30 CAD experience.

• Occasional travel required
