Job Summary:

Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has an immediate opening for a Payroll Lead, in its Carlisle, PA location.  The Payroll Lead is responsible for administering multi-state payrolls for various company FEIN’s; including the preparation, processing, transmission and/or interface to outside providers/customers.  This role will lead the Payroll team and develop processes, ensure compliance to payroll law, and recommend corrective action to management, as necessary.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Administers, organizes, and prioritizes payroll workflow of weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls to maximize efficiency
  • Leads payroll year-end reconciliation of W-2 reporting for multiple FEIN’s; verifying taxable wages/liabilities and resolving tax notices
  • Supports payroll compliance by updating processes and participating as the subject matter expert in various internal and external audits.
  • Develops ad hoc financial operational metrics and HR reporting as needed
  • Manages reporting requirements for state and federal labor/tax agencies
  • Stays up to date on state and federal payroll polices impacting compliance
  • Manages garnishments, child support, and all other income withholding orders
  • Performs quality checks of HRIS and Time System data
  • Assists Payroll Manager in daily activities and special projects, as assigned, including compilation of data and data analysis
  • Processes and manages one-time pay procedures and manual checks
  • Serves as a back-up for all payrolls
  • Maintains professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information
  • Acts as an expert regarding payroll questions/support needs and is the first step in trouble-shooting payroll errors/issues
  • Provides training and on-going support to HRIS users on system procedures and policies

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field, experience and/or training/certification may be substituted.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 
  • HRIS experience, specifically in payroll, timekeeping, garnishments and benefits administration systems is required.
  • 3+ years of Payroll experience required.  CPP and prior Customer Service experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required. 
  • Microsoft Office Suite knowledge is also essential.
