Job Description

As a Network Administrator, you will provide a high level of technical expertise in the planning, evaluation, acquisition, design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s network and systems infrastructure.  This includes firewalls, MS Windows servers, VMWare virtualization, disk storage systems (SAN), and support of network related software and systems.  

Top Responsibilities:

  • Support and perform upgrades within a clustered VMware environment, including the OS, hardware, firmware, etc.
  • Performs monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Server 2003 through 2016 with minimal RedHat support including a wide range of non-Microsoft software.
  • Superior customer service attitude, willingness to continually learn new technology, and ability to adjust to a dynamic environment are a must haves
  • Administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, DFSR, Namespace, Azure, Office 365, Exchange, SCCM, etc.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the deployment and performance of all Microsoft software installations, updates, security patches, etc.
  • Builds physical and virtual servers for new applications as well as performing migrations to new hardware/software
  • Uses risk management techniques to keep end users functioning smoothly, as well as change management to communicate changes to the staff
  • Works with vendors and end users to diagnose problems and see solutions through to completion
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others including working in a team environment
  • Must be willing to share information, document processes, and mentor subordinates
  • Participates in the administration of MS Exchange/E-Mail including retention policies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related discipline
  • Ability to relay highly complex technical information to non-technical individuals through written and oral communication
  • Experience with the administration of MS SQL 2005 through 2016 servers highly desired
  • Experience managing HP Procurve and Cisco networking gear is a plus
  • Experience with Brocade switches, EMC SAN, Dell servers, and Turbonomic are a plus
  • Must have the ability to manage projects, plan, organize, and prioritize outstanding tasks and make independent decisions
  • Microsoft and VMWare certifications are a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Systems/Network Administrator in a MS Windows/VMWare environment
  • Experience with the most recent versions of all Microsoft data center (Server, SQL, DataCenter) and VMWare software is highly preferred
  • Any experience with Check Point firewall configuration and management is a major plus
