Job Description

Ultimate RB, a Carlisle Company, is a leading manufacturer of recycled rubber products and one of the largest and most technically advanced tire recyclers in the world.  Our Delphos, Ohio plant specializes in high quality customized rolled rubber products.  We are seeking a Multi-Technician for Night Shift 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM Monday to Thursday.  Friday overtime is required.

General Summary:

The Multi-Tech is responsible for maintaining existing electrical system infrastructure to ensure a safe electrical environment is provided for all employees, contractors, etc. The Multi-Tech also maintains facilities and production equipment to operate in the safest and most productive condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies, and plant reliability strategies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge, understanding and adheres to governmental regulatory programs and policies.  Knowledge of National, State and Local Electrical Codes.  These may include but are not limited to National Electrical Code (NEC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Uniform Building Code (UBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70, National Electric Code, NFPA 70B Electrical Maintenance, NFPA 70E Arc Flash Electrical Safety, NFPA 79 Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery and local government environmental agency policies.
  • Practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures, including but not limited to:  Lock-Out - Tag-Out; Arc Flash and Hot Work Permits.
  • Troubleshooting and tests electrical/electronic equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Applies knowledge of technical drawings and schematics and interprets blue prints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, OEM and engineering instructions, factory manuals, pneumatics, hydraulics, and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams      (P&ID’s), and etc.
  • Must be able to use several different programming languages for the varied Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) in plant.

  • Install and Maintain Electrical Equipment, Systems, and Devices
  • Laying Out and Installing Wiring Circuits
  • Calibrating Level, Pressure, Temperature, and Flow Measuring Systems
  • Conducting 3-Phase Motor Replacement
  • Conducting Systems Tests
  • Maintaining and Installing Fire Alarm Systems
  • Maintaining Tools and Equipment
  • Measuring, Cutting, and Bending Conduit Using Hand and Hydraulic Benders
  • Be able to read and understand the various schematics and electrical prints for the equipment in the plant
  • Be proficient with utilizing a computer, including Microsoft Office, SAP, CMMS, and Shopfloor
  • Be able to access and utilize the software associated with the various VFDs, PLCs, Wonderware, and HMIs utilized throughout the plant
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills:  written, oral, and electronic

 Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years industrial maintenance experience required in a manufacturing facility performing electrical maintenance duties, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs including: 480v 3phase electric to 24vdc and communication wiring, working knowledge of PLC’s, ladder logic and relay logic, VFD motors/controls, pumps, pneumatic, hydraulics, boilers and pipe-fitting
  • General mechanical skills and schematic/blueprint reading necessary
  • License Electrician Journeyman Card (Ohio)
  • Pre-employment demonstration of electrical competence
  • Successful pre-employment background and drug screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing
  • Walking - all areas of the operation must be accessed
  • Climbing - all areas of the operation must be accessed
  • Sight and hearing - Must be able to effectively communicate on the factory floor.  The need to listen and observe is critical to maintaining an effective awareness of the events occurring in the plant environment.
  • Stooping and bending - Required in some confined situations in order to observe or gather information to assist with problem solving.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Compensation and Benefits include:

  • $23.00 to 25.00 per hour, depends upon experience, plus $0.75 shift premium
