Job Description

Under direct supervision, the Mechanical Assembler I perform simple to moderate operations in the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components and subassemblies for the aerospace industry.


* Use common hand tools, power tools and machinery in the production of simple to moderate assemblies
* Required to work with a variety of materials: steel, sheet metal, aluminum, brass, solvents, oils and abrasives
* Identify and kit parts necessary for assembly
* Understand and work with Manufacturing Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
* Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
* Makes sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materials
* Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines

Ability to detect or tell the differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness.

* High school diploma or equivalent
* 6-12 months of related experience.


* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Articulate with use of good grammar skills.

* A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.


* Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and schematics
* Ability to measure accurately using a ruler or tape measure
* Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment
* Writing skills required to complete documents and forms
* Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
