Job Description


Under general supervision, the Mechanical Assembler II performs simple to advanced operations in the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components and subassemblies for the aerospace industry


* Uses hand tools, power tools and various machines for simple to advanced assemblies.
* Ability to comfortably work with a variety of materials: steel, sheet metal, aluminum, brass, solvents, oils and abrasives.
* Integrate electrical racks into structures and conduct airflow tests
* Understand and work with Manufacturing Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
* Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
* Consistently demonstrates sound knowledge required by Assembler I training
* Makes sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materials
* Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines

* High school diploma or equivalent
* 1 year related experience preferred
* Satisfy Mechanical Assembler 1 requirements
* Satisfy all Mechanical Assembler II requirements after the required time period
* Satisfy Personnel Proficiency Requirements after the required time period
* Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, drawings and schematics.


* Must have a working comprehension of the English language complimented with workplace levels of grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills


* Protective clothing or equipment may be required, and may include steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection
* Intermittent travel may be required to support production and Carlisle IT business objectives
* Writing skills required to complete documents and forms
* Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
* Ability to adapt to schedule changes with a positive attitude. Ability and willingness to work overtime when requested are required. Some positions require 10 or 12 hour schedules as an essential duty.
* Other conditions include frequent reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling, crouching or stooping.
