Job Description

The primary objective of this position is to assemble and disassemble advanced mechanical components and subassemblies for the aerospace industry to ensure Carlisle IT meets performance, quality, and customer delivery expectations. Our work environment is fast paced and team-oriented.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts, sequences of operations, or identities and relationships of parts.

• Inspect and verify required components, prior to and upon completion of assembly, for visual defects and damage

• Perform advanced assembly, installation, and connection of parts, fittings, and assemblies

• Operates power drivers, fixtures, table top presses, rivet machines, gauges, hand tools & miscellaneous equipment to perform mechanical assembly of products.

• Work with a variety of materials including solvents, oils and abrasives

• Ensure accuracy and quality of the work performed by visual observation, checklists, bill of materials, assembly drawings, and test equipment provided

• Identify and kit parts necessary for assembly

• Maintain work environment in accordance with Lean 5S standards and perform tasks in accordance with company safety standards; Makes sure that workstation is clean, organized and free of hazardous materials

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year related experience preferred
• Satisfy Mechanical Assembler 1 requirements
• Satisfy all Mechanical Assembler II requirements after the required time period
• Satisfy Personnel Proficiency Requirements after the required time period
• Must have a working comprehension of the English language complimented with workplace levels of grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, drawings and schematics.
