SUMMARY

Through the use of the Carlisle Operating System and subordinate staff; plans, organizes, controls and directs the activities and material of a specific manufacturing area(s) in order to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives





ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Coordinate flow of work and materials based on scheduled customer orders, established priorities and availability/capability of workers, parts, materials and equipment
* Determine (pre-production) capacity requirements.
* Plans sequence of operations to provide guidance for manufacturing staff and technicians
* Schedule and monitor required technical training for manufacturing staff
* Support Manufacturing Leads, and teams with questions and interface with all levels of Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality Assurance staff
* Assist other supervisors and management to ensure utilization of personnel, equipment and facilities is efficient and resources are maximized
* Communicate directly with Production Planner on any conflicts with capacity availability, scheduled workload or parts/material shortages
* Demonstrate support of the Carlisle Operating System and LeanSigma to staff and how these tools enhance their daily performance
* Develop an atmosphere that encourages employee participation in the Carlisle Operating System
* Motivate and counsel employees in preserving an efficient and productive workplace
* Introduce new methods/techniques to improve quality and/or efficiency
* Interface with all levels of Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality Assurance staff
* Maintain and promote a safe working environment
* Implement continuous improvement ideas and suggestions using the tools of LeanSigma
* Develop and post-performance measures for SQDC Metrics in line with the Carlisle Operating System
* Work all schedules, including assigned weekends, as needed and requested by management
* Frequent use of computer station to accomplish various administrative tasks
* Fair and consistent application of Carlisle handbook guidelines and values

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

* Responsible for the direction, coordination and evaluation of manufacturing personnel. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance to company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws
* Responsibilities include interview, hire and train employees; plan, assist and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems
* Provide ongoing training to applicable staff to develop and encourage their technical and operational performance. Meet with appropriate staff on a timely basis for performance evaluations and goal setting
* Ensure company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all Manufacturing Department functions
* Display effective leadership as defined by the Carlisle IT Model Manager guidelines

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.



JOB SKILLS/TYPE OF PERSON

Must be experienced with PC's using Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel). Must have exceptional work ethic, and the ability to manage and maximize time and company resources. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

Carlisle IT Mobile is a clean facility housing different kinds of machinery, equipment, processes and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* High School diploma or equivalent required, AA/AS Degree preferred
* Five to eight years supervisory experience in a AS9100 or ISO9001 manufacturing facility
* Ability to manage company personnel policies and procedures consistently
* Ability to communicate effectively showing excellent written and verbal communication skills with a diverse group of people
* Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
