ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Assist Manufacturing Teams and facilitate support in the assembly of Electrical and/or Fiber Optic components by means of acceptable processing * Utilize hand tools and automated machines and components in conjunction with customer drawings, parts list, bill of materials, wire diagrams, schematics, tables and work instructions to build cables * Mentor all Levels of manufacturing teams * Capable of performing all duties and requirements of the EAIII assembler level * Assist assemblers with questions and interface with various departments when problems arise or when additional information is needed for assembly products * Stage and schedule assemblers' work by daily demand and ensure they have the tools necessary to do their jobs * Communicate ideas to supervisor and work with supervisor to implement * Advocate positive and productive team atmosphere. Communicate performance issues to supervisor * Assist supervisors/management with ensuring the maximum and efficient utilization of personnel, equipment and facilities * May give input to supervisor in evaluating assemblers * Support company goals and policies * Demonstrate a high level of creativity and continuously look for ways to improve and increase quality and efficiency * Responsible for work area clean up and work bench organization to 5S standards * Meet company attendance standard and exhibit predictable and consistent daily attendance * Regular and predictable on-site attendance *Other duties as required in support of the department and the company* SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES * This job has no supervisory responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions * Able to read customer specification sheets to build cables * Proven proficiency with an 80% and above average score and maintain active status in the below Carlisle IT Technical training courses: * Carlisle New Hire training * IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS Certification (All modules) * J-STD-001 CIS Certification (All modules) * Understanding of and experience in a lean manufacturing environment * Kaizen participation 2x yearly, lean manufacturing workshop training * Mentor, promote and encourage participation in lean activities including Kaizen events, Point Kaizens, and Continuous Improvement ideas * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to include following verbal and written instructions using standard work documents * Frequent use of computer station to accomplish various administrative tasks * Able to work under pressure in meeting time schedules while demonstrating effective decision-making * Able to work with minimal supervision * Adaptable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders, make a schedule change or work on special projects to meet customer demands * Able and willing to work overtime are required. Some positions require working a 10- or 12-hour schedule as an essential duty. Work schedule variations due to customer demands are common and should be expected, however, regular 8-hour schedules are typically set as follows: * Day Shift 6:00am-2:30pm * Swing Shift 4:00pm-12:30am EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * High School Diploma or GED * 2+ years' experience as an EAII or above and/or relevant experience and proven proficiency in related manufacturing environment CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must maintain industry certifications as applicable to position and value stream that is supported. Including but not limited to; IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-JSTD-001, IPC-610, IPC-600 and NASA 8739 LANGUAGE SKILLS * Ability to read, write, speak and understand English PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
