Job Description

We are seeking open minded and creative, out of the box, individuals who have experience in electrical assembly processes. Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, the Manufacturing Engineering I is responsible for conducting the research, design, and development of systems, processes, machines, tools, and equipment in order to ensure manufacturing processes are conducted in the most economic, efficient, and effective way possible.


* Support manufacturing systems for complex and advanced electrical and mechanical operations related to the assembly of wire harnessing, coaxial cables, and integrated racks

* Work with the planning, engineering and project management teams to ensure that the technical project requirements are fully defined, agreed and delivered within schedule and cost constraint

* Conduct the evaluation, research, and implementation of manufacturing quality control processes, manufacturing methods, calculate manufacturing cost and ROI, tooling needs, and execute the development of fixturing and go/no-go gauges
* Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design review, guideline for standard work processes, tools, parts, work holding set up, testing and validation, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget) are in place prior to commencing work. Analysis of first time builds.
* Project management of new equipment or tooling to enhance quality, safety, cost and productivity
* Utilize six sigma methodologies to improve the quality output of processes by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes
* In conjunction with lean and 5's principles, enhance quality and productivity savings by analyzing processes and develop optimal layouts, process procedures, and process flow
* Support corrective actions, failure analysis, customer return and rework assessments. Perform root cause analysis focused on efficiency, quality, cost and safety
* Improve manufacturing efficiency by coordinating development of training and facilitating support on the manufacturing floor

* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
* Manufacturing experience within an ISO controlled and/or government regulated environment preferred
* Experience with AS9100 regulated industries preferred
* Efficient in blueprints and wiring diagrams
* Working knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma principles
* Familiar with process or equipment that may include electro mechanical assembly
* Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
* Strong technical skills including the ability to read and understand technical drawings
* Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and is able to use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & associated software efficiently
* Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross functional group of individuals
* Self-starter that is able to work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines


* The employee must have a working comprehension of the English language complimented with workplace levels of grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills


* Active IPC-WHMA-A-620 certification preferred or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
