SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely and high-performance execution of activities related to product realization, product verification, and the growth and development of people, processes, and systems



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Monitor production scheduling, and coordinate the activities of employees who are involved in the inspection and verification of product based on scheduled customer orders, established priorities, and availability and capability of workers and equipment
* Determine capacity requirements for meeting internal commit dates and customer demand
* Ensure employees have necessary training, tools, and support to be fully effective in their positions
* Develop and sustain an atmosphere that encourages employee teamwork and participation to exceed customer expectations while driving continuous improvement
* Effectively interact within a cross-functional team to meet product delivery dates
* Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
* Set quality compliance objectives, and ensure that targets are achieved
* Define, develop, and implement quality procedures to detail operational steps for effective execution
* Oversee the identification and application of elements of the corrective action process, including problem identification, failure analysis, root cause analysis, problem correction, recurrent control and verification of effectiveness
* Identify and apply various preventive action tools, such as error-proofing/poka-yoke, and robust design, and analyze their effectiveness
* Support data flow and identification on area continuous improvement boards
* Support kaizen activity and related activities
* Review and approve Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) documentation, ensure proper application of quality tools and principles, and ensure robustness of corrective and preventive actions
* Conduct internal audits of management systems and assign corrective actions as necessary
* Support manufacturing operations, including quality trending and data analysis, and support containment initiatives
* Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following supervisory responsibilities exist within this position:

* Hire employees
* Mentor and advise
* Recommend employee promotions
* Assign and evaluate work
* Terminate employees
* Review performance semi-annually
* Recommend pay levels and merit increase percentages



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field with 6+ years of experience, or 10+ years of relevant quality and manufacturing experience in a manufacturing environment performing quality work
* Master's degree in an engineering or related field, or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
* 5+ years of leadership experience preferred



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
* Certified Internal Auditor preferred



LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Articulate with use of good grammar skills.
* A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.







JOB SKILLS

* Experience within the Aerospace Industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred
* Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
* Strong technical skills including the ability to read and understand technical drawings
* Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and can use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & associated software efficiently
* Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross functional group of individuals
