Job Description

Supports Engineering and Production requirements for machine shop operations, and any other activities as required in support of factory operations. Safely operates and maintain all machine shop equipment, supplies, and inventory including CNC machining center, NC mill, lathe, drill press, miscellaneous power and hand tools, and all associated ancillary equipment


• Responsible for operating and maintaining all machine shop equipment, tools, and supplies
• Responsible for maintaining 5S cleanliness and organization in the shop at all times
• Responsible for following all safety guidelines and requirements as specified by the Shop Coordinator or Plant Safety Officer, and ensuring that any personnel entering or using shop equipment or tools follow all safety precaution.
• Responsible for pursuing continuous safety improvements within the machine shop
• Responsible for meeting deadlines as specified by Production or Shop Coordinator; overtime will be required on occasion to meet production deadlines
• Responsible for ensuring that all required periodic maintenance is performed to keep and maintain shop equipment in excellent working condition
• Will be required on occasion to perform other tasks not directly related to machine shop operations in support of general factory operations or other projects as directed by Shop Coordinator or Engineering Manager
• Responsible for immediately notifying Shop Coordinator or Engineering Manager of accidents, injury to self or other personnel, or observed safety violations
• Responsible for reporting any incidents of interpersonal conflict to Engineering Manager

• Ability to produce a finished, machined/fabricated part or assembly from engineering drawings, sketches or CAD models, using a variety of raw materials, including brass, aluminum, steel, copper, wood, and plastics
• Proficiency in programming and operating CNC machining center, NC mill, lathe, drill press, and all standard miscellaneous shop tools
• Proficient understanding of engineering drawings and their related dimensioning and tolerancing
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
• Able to work in a fast-pace, ambiguous, rapidly changing environment
• Able to multi-task, work on multiple projects
• Excellent personal computing skills, particularly Microsoft Office. Electronic drafting and 3D solid modeling experience is highly desirable


• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 3-5 years minimum machine shop experience, including operation and maintenance of all standard shop tools and equipment

Must maintain industry certifications as applicable to position and value stream that is supported. Including but not limited to; IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-JSTD-001, IPC-610, IPC-600 and NASA 8739


• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
