Job Summary:

Plating Lead assists the supervisor in coordinating and monitoring activities of operators engaged in all plating and wastewater operations on daily basis, give guidance to the operators to perform work according to production requirements, and assist in maintaining production to the highest quality and meets production standards. The Lead may also assist and take direction from engineers, technicians or others involved in the plating processes.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Responsible for directing the workload for the daily schedule and follow priority requirements.
* Ability to operate the plating equipment and ancillary equipment on the Osciline to produce acceptable plated parts and hardware.
* Operates various plating production lines within assigned area in accordance with process specifications with limited assistance from Plating Supervisor.
* Ensures that blueprint specifications are met and maintain quality and production requirements.
* Posts all process control data required.
* Ability to work with, use and interpret blueprints with limited assistance from Plating Supervisor.
* Works with and uses Manufacturing Shop Orders (MSO) and appropriate inspection equipment. Ensures that paperwork and computer data entry corresponds with parts in process and that tractability data is correct and is maintained.
* Have the ability to maintain various plating records and prepare required reports.
* Provides direction and training for lower level plating personnel.
* Maintains clean, well organized work area while performing all assigned tasks in a manner consistent with company safety/environmental regulations
* Responsible for the safe and proper handling of all chemicals
* Have the ability to operate the waste treatment system in concert with the plating schedule without loss of production.

* Perform all other related duties and functions as assigned.

Physical Demands:

* This position uses a computer terminal to access, input, and retrieve data.

* This position may be subject to frequent or occasional interruptions which may cause a change in immediate priorities and/or work focus.
* May require the occasional lifting or moving of items in excess of 40 pounds.
* May require irregular or extended work hours.
* May be subject to loud noises
* May handle hazardous materials and chemicals.
* Routinely stands, walks, sits, stoops, reaches, and bends

Skills and/or Experience Needed:

* Minimum two years experience in Plating operations or equivalent work environment.
* Ability to use calipers, micrometers, thread gages and X-ray machines.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints with limited assistance from Plating Supervisor
* Demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently.

Language Skills:

* Must communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to employees at all levels and with outside vendors and customers as needed.
* Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability:

* Must be able to apply common sense in carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
