Job Description

Give direction to operators assigned to set-up and/or operate production machines to produce parts and meet production standards. Instruct and assist employees in operating, setting up, machine repair and checking of parts. Check employee's production periodically to verify it is meeting quality standards. Assist supervisor in any production or quality issues.


Make necessary modifications to tooling or machines.

Request new tooling when needed/make detailed drawing.

Minor repair work on machines.

Available/able to answer employee questions regarding work procedure.

Assist leads and/or operators in set-ups.

Perform all others related duties and functions as assigned by supervisor.

Assist with training and development of employees.

Physical Demands:

Occasional may be required to work irregular hours and overtime.

May occasionally lift and on move objects up to 30 lbs.

While performing duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, speak, and/or listen.

Able to work in an environment that may be subject to occasional loud noises, hazardous materials, chemicals, etc.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Understand verbal and written instructions giving.

Read and understand shop orders.

Follow production drawings.
Reasoning Ability:

Ability to follow instructions and perform necessary assignments.

Able to understand departmental forms and drawings and be able to process accurately.

Able to make sound decisions in a manufacturing environment.


Set-up procedures.

Interpret drawings/able to make sketches.

Must be able to use inspection equipment.

Must have mechanical capabilities (Calipers, Micrometer, and
Additional Skills, Education & Experience preferred (not required):

Computer literate.

Minimum 1 year as lead person.

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with strong interaction with all levels of management.
