SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Quality and Compliance Engineering Manager, the Lead Calibration Technician is responsible for monitoring and coordinating all aspects of tool and equipment calibration in accordance with established calibration schedules and scheduled preventive maintenance


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Support initial accreditation and sustainability of ISO 17025 site accreditation by ensuring facility adherence with established procedures and processes
* Lead the identification, development, and application of all elements of the tool and equipment calibration process, including record control, timely and accurate processing, internal and external communication, continual gauge status, and overall flow
* Perform basic calibration for hand tools and equipment following established work instructions
* Maintain the master calibration database by ensuring complete and accurate records for all tools and equipment
* Contact, coordinate and work with external vendors to schedule onsite and offsite calibration activities
* Coordinate downtime scheduling with production supervisors to minimize the impact of tool and equipment shortages
* Oversee identification, organization and flow of tools and equipment in the calibration cage
* Assist in the monitoring and execution of data collection plans
* Monitor and track information within spreadsheets and databases, as well as action item commitments and due dates, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely completion of commitments and activities while achieving high levels of quality performance
* Support data flow and identification on area continuous improvement boards
* Support kaizen activity and related activities
* Conduct internal audits of calibration systems and assign corrective actions as necessary
* Support manufacturing operations, including quality trending and data analysis, and assist with containment initiatives
* Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* 3+ years of relevant quality or manufacturing experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* ASQ CCT preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Articulate with use of good grammar skills.
* A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
JOB SKILLS

* Experience within the Aerospace Industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred
* Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
* Strong technical skills including the ability to read and understand technical drawings
* Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and can use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & associated software efficiently
* Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross functional group of individuals
* Self-starter that can work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines
