SUMMARY

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for the co-ordination, managing and tracking infrastructure and applications projects. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibility and monitors and summarizes progress of projects.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


• Scope and manage portfolio of projects in a multi-tier application and infrastructure environment.


• Recommend appropriate trade-offs to optimize business value delivery and time-to-market, using solid business and technical judgment, in partnership with business


• Provide concise, meaningful status updates to all levels of the organization including project team, management, and executive sponsors.


• Create and own project schedule, control, and metrics tracking.


• Track and assess project progress with appropriate corrective action.


• Manage project issues through to successful resolution, including sponsor negotiations of scope and schedule options.


• Identify and manage risk to minimize the results of adverse events and maximize the results of positive events.


• Balance constraints and deliver projects on time, on budget and within quality standards.


• Own the Project Portfolio Management tool for project tracking and reporting.


• Continually seeks self-education to acquire deeper and wider knowledge in the area of expertise.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.



WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Occasionally the job may require that time in the production areas, which require OSHA safety standards and PPE requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


• 3+ years of IT project management experience.


• Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent


• Advanced knowledge in Core Competencies: Project Management and/or Business Analysis, Information Technology/Software Development, Basic Technical Writing, Process Flow Documentation.


• Working understanding of risk analysis, management and critical path analysis


• Demonstrated ability to track actuals to planned objectives and escalate for assistance when deviations require senior management support.


• Experience within a Manufacturing industry is preferred.


• SAP Project Management experience is preferred.


• Experience with a PPM tool would be preferred.


• Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or equivalent experience required.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Preference given PMP or relevant certifications.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to understand Spanish or Mandarin a plus. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
