Job Description

SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, performs a wide variety of complex Molding operations including setup and operation of the machine, troubleshooting of the molding process and inspection of molded parts.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The ability to operate an injection molding machine.
Utilize hand tools and automated machines and components in conjunction with customer drawings parts list, bill of materials, wire diagrams, schematics, tables and work instructions.
Build complex assemblies using standard work documents to a high level of quality and efficiency.
Demonstrate knowledge required for Molding of PCB, Flex, and Circular Connectors.
Diligent in working to all required ESD Procedures.
Accurately record data on Traveler Tags for Critical to Quality processes.
Operate Ovens as required.
Able to follow SPG, PG, and AP documentation for molding and part preparation (priming).
Understanding of basic machine functions such as electrical and hydraulic systems.
Assist Engineers with prototyping new designs and material applications.
Order (MTRL) / Locate prototype material.
Utilize CIT software - DBMF & Shop View.
Operate Vacuum Oven Chamber.
Have knowledge of or be capable to learn Thermoplastic and Thermoset Molding - Set-up, Run, and Cleaning procedures.
Have knowledge of or be capable to learn Mold Tool Cleaning and Preventative Maintenance procedures.
Have knowledge of or be capable to learn material drying methods and equipment.
Assist Engineering with prototype fixture design and implementation.
Be able to be Trained of Specific Customer Supplied test equipment.
Interface with engineers as required.
Complete paperwork clearly and accurately relating to the building of cable assemblies.
Heavily involved with New Product Development projects utilizing excellent understanding of First Time Build process.
Demonstrate a high level of creativity; continuously looking for ways to improve and increase quality and efficiency.

You must maintain active status in Carlisle IT Technical training courses as assigned.
Wire Harness Fundamental.
Molding of PCB, Flex, and Circular Connector Knowledge.
Knowledge of typical molding materials.
Molding of contact blocks using multiple materials.
Mold and Tooling Fundamentals.
IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS Certification (All modules).
IPC/WHMA-A-610 CIS Certification (All modules).
ESD and FOD awareness courses and any other training found to be required.
Kaizen participation 1X yearly, Lean manufacturing workshop training.
Excellent written and communication skills to include following verbal and written instructions using standard work documents.
Demonstrates good judgment and decision making skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
Ability to adapt to schedule changes with a positive attitude and be detail oriented.
Ability to maintain assembly precision under high stress situations.
Demonstrate honesty and integrity when internal discrepancies are found.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must maintain industry certifications as applicable to position and value stream that is supported. Including but not limited to; IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-JSTD-001, IPC-610, IPC-600 and NASA 8739
IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS Certification (All modules).
IPC/WHMA-A-610 CIS Certification (All modules).
J-STD-001 certification or Equivalent Solder experience (PCB, Flex circuit board, Circular connectors, through hole, Surface mount, Solder cups, etc....)
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
