SUMMARY
The IT Infrastructure Architect (IA) is responsible for addressing complex technical challenges across IT Infrastructure systems and networks landscape; and will serve as a key IT leader, strategist and influencer to a globally distributed team as well as technical operations, process definitions and improvements. The IT IA is accountable for driving end-to-end DevOps approach to infrastructure systems and networks design, implementation and management of IT Infrastructure projects. Ensuring all systems and networks are working at optimal levels and support the development of new technologies and system and network requirements. Strong knowledge of all infrastructure systems and networks disciplines as well as data, security and application domains are a must. The IA provides vision, strategy, guidance, road maps, processes, principles, standards and best practices to our IT program. The IA must be able to balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities, while maintaining the longer-term strategic vision of the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Design, assist, and execute IT infrastructure DevOp solutions in both networking and systems platforms.
• Ensure design, execution, and operational effectiveness of infrastructure systems and platforms in alignment with IT and business strategy.
• Lead and provide technical oversight to strategic projects and will have the ability to effectively lead multiple initiative concurrently, while also providing direction to ensure the stability and scalability of existing systems.
• Creates and performs IT infrastructure assessments to identify gaps in processes, procedures, and post execution tasks; and build action plan to remediate and disseminate the report to the appropriate responsible level of the IT team(s); and audit remediation efforts for effectiveness.
• Ensuring existing configurations and designs are to best practice industry standards and are in alignment with CIT IT's roadmap. If not, create detailed plans to correct and drive implementation.
• Design IT roadmaps, goals, and establish system standards for the enterprise
• Research and identify new and emerging technologies that will enhance the organization's operating efficiency and support enhanced customer service and revenue growth.
• Assist with IT budget development and management.
• Internal controls (Audit) as applicable to the site or across the enterprise-- maintain guidelines for a system of internal control. Conduct internal-audits and reviews to assess compliance.
• Documentation -- maintains current and accurate documentation for the following: SOP (standard operating procedures), Processes, Contracts, Software licensing, managed services, systems and networks, diagrams.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting metrics as needed.
• Develop methodology for maintaining and managing the use of the infrastructure architecture in the immediate and long-range strategic plans and solutions.
• Assess the scalability, security and availability of new systems technologies and enterprise-wide solutions.
• Define future standards for systems infrastructure including criteria to determine hardware, systems software, network, and capacity design and configuration.
• Serve as an architectural or subject matter expert and advisor to senior IT management and provide guidance to other staff within multiple areas of the IT organization.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the organization's and industry technologies and architectures.
• Be able to serve as an infrastructure systems and networks engineer with hands on experience in implementing and troubleshooting technical problems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Occasionally the job may require that you enter the production area, which you will need to maintain OSHA safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University (Information Technology, Information Systems) required.
• 10+ years of IT Infrastructure experience with a variety of technologies (Windows, Citrix, Network, Virtual Private Network (VPN), VM and Storage).
• 5+ years of Enterprise or Solution Architect/Engineer experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Networking Storage and VM tools. Proven knowledge with Network: LAN, WAN, SD-WAN (Cisco, Palo-alto), switches, firewalls, DMZ, CDN, DNS, VPN. Additional proven knowledge with Hosting and Storage: Compute (Linux, windows) Virtualization (VMWARE) and Hyperconverged - Hybrid infrastructure (Nutanix).
• 5+ years of experience successfully guiding the troubleshooting of issues in a distributed system, as well as working with operational teams and vendors as needed to isolate and restore service upon escalation. This includes experience working with other teams and staff to identify the root cause of problems and making recommendations on how to avoid repeating problems.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Architecture Certification (TOGAF, CITA, EACOE, Certified SOA Architect).
• Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certifications in Cloud Platform Infrastructure
• Cisco certifications - CCNP, CCar or CCIE.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
JOB SKILLS

• Cloud platform experience with proven knowledge of Cloud Solutions and how they should be implemented including public, private and hybrid cloud solutions and subscription models.
• Knowledge and experience with evaluating, implementing and managing SD-WAN environments
• Deep conceptual understanding of the current state of enterprise infrastructure with Dev Ops including automation and orchestration, continuous integration/deployment.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills to influence infrastructure engineers.
• Excellent leadership, communication and presentations skills, especially with non-technical audiences and senior leadership.
• Basic understanding of the agile and waterfall methodologies.
• Strong understanding of Cyber Security requirements and demands as they relate to infrastructure provisioning and operations.
• Comfortable discussing business needs, gathering requirements, and recommending solutions including leading whiteboard discussions.
• Have a commanding, accommodating, and positive presence and attitude that promotes situational positive control.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and oral).
