Industrial Engineering Internship

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology has an opening for a Industrial Engineering Intern, for the summer of 2019 at our Headquarters in Carlisle, PA. This is a full time paid internship.

Project Summary:

  The Industrial Engineering intern will work with the Production group to optimize throughput in a variety of operations. Projects will focus on determining capacity constraints and avoiding bottle necks in the plant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Investigate F370 Mixer capacity of white versus black rubber stock
  • Throughput optimization work at the ASBM and Conventional vulcanizers
  • Throughput optimization work at the Clean Sheet Winder operations
  • Assist in creating/updating SOP documents at various operations


  • Candidate must be pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science or Chemistry.
  • Background and interest in plastics or rubber processing and equipment are preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA required

Additional Information:

Candidates must be available to work full-time the entire duration of the internship: May 2019-August 2019.  A formal presentation to an internal audience will be required at the completion of the project.
