SUMMARY



* The Human Resources Generalist effectively executes the responsibilities in the functional areas of: employee relations, HR data analysis, talent development, benefits, compliance, performance management, benefits, organizational development, recruitment, compensation, administration of HR policies/procedures/programs, new hire integration and special projects as assigned.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Responsible for the full cycle recruitment process for assigned vacant positions including but not limited to: sourcing candidates, managing recruitment agency relationships, resume review, arranging interviews, interviewing, and pre-employment activities. Responsible for executing recruitment strategies such as job fairs, outreach to educational organizations, internships, and niche job posting opportunities.
* Provides guidance on employee relations issues and complaints that represent significant employee-organizational risk. Makes recommendations for appropriate action related to significant or complex employee relations issues. May approve final written warnings or documented performance approval plans.
* Responsible for training, process enhancement and procedures for the payroll processing requirements to ensure prompt and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll and labor tracking systems for all employees.
* Responsible for overall content and delivery of new hire orientations and coordinates training activities, in conjunction with associated compliance components.
* Responsible for the administration of benefit plans and programs. Responds to intermediate or complex benefit related matters by engaging corporate resources or vendors as required. Responsible for all employee benefit compliance communications.
* Generate and report HR departmental metrics utilizing HR related systems.
* Represents the company on unemployment claims; interfaces with professional and regulatory auditors in line with company policies and procedures.
* Proactively addresses safety issues and serves as back up to HR Manager in leading safety committee.
* Arranges random drug and alcohol test for employees in safety sensitive positions to maintain compliance with FAA regulations.
* Possesses a good understanding of systems and how to apply that knowledge when making pay decisions. Understands the impact of pay decisions on internal equity and external competitiveness.
* Good analytical and problem solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
* Works independently and manages multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

CIT Riverside is a clean facility housing different kinds of machinery, equipment, processes and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other relevant field desired.
* PHR or SHRM-CP Certification a plus.
* Minimum 3 years HR experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
* Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
* Extensive knowledge of principles and best practices of human resources and California and federal regulations.
* Experience working with an automated time keeping system and HRIS.
* Strong personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively with both employees and managers. Able to convey a positive and professional image to employees and external contacts.
* Ability to read and interpret policies and procedural manuals.
* Ability to speak effectively in front of groups of managers and employees.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts including basic mathematical concepts.
* Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions.
* Ability to uphold CIT policy, procedure and culture through relations with internal and external contacts.
* Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
