We are looking for a HR Generalist to join our team in Carlisle, PA. 

In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the coordination, development and maintenance of policies, procedures and programs designed to ensure that an adequately trained, compensated and motivated workforce is available to meet the company's current and future organization needs.  While located at our Corporate Office in Carlisle, PA this role will report to the Regional HR Manager – East Region and support HR functions across multiple East Coast locations. 

Up to 25% travel will be required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer the employment function, which includes recruiting and screening of applicants, facilitating the use of any temporary employment agencies and managing the job posting system for internal/ external candidates in accordance with company and legal guidelines
  • Serve as first point of contact on human resource policies and procedures and responsible for guidance to all employees to insure consistent adherence to these
  • Payroll assistance and support for assigned locations.
  • Coordinate and conduct benefit open enrollment and assist employees with questions and changes
  • Support company-led safety initiatives
  • Coordinate, facilitate and/or assist in training activities for assigned locations (i.e. orientation programs, anti-harassment training, leadership, etc.)
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Effectively support and foster the company's Open Door Policy
  • Assist and conduct onsite investigations
  • Administer the Worker's Compensation program including complete documentation of injuries and administration of potential claims
  • Maintain all personnel records in accordance with EEO, privacy, and related requirements.
  • Model and promote strong teamwork
  • Coordinate and ensure regulatory compliance with respect to all facets of employment
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resource Management or related field
  • Three to five (3-5) years prior HR experience required, manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Able to demonstrate ability to solve somewhat more complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the job. Must be able to recognize anomalies and critical situations and respond appropriately.
  • Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/ external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues of moderate complexity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. May require knowledge of or ability to quickly learn specialized software to complete work assignments.
  • Requires excellent communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.
  • Must be able to proactively listen to others to understand issues and situations. Must be able to clearly articulate business needs to both internal and external customers.
  • Broad knowledge of general employment laws, recruitment, EEO/AAP, safety training and policy development.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including those of Dept. of Labor, OSHA, and other state and local governing bodies
  • Strong time management and follow up skills
  • Able to exercise high level of discretion and latitude in completing tasks
