Job Description


Performs First Article Inspections per AS9102 and Carlisle's own work instructions and processes, which consists of a complete, independent, and documented physical and functional inspection process to verify that prescribed production methods have produced an acceptable item as specified by engineering drawings, planning, purchase order, engineering specifications, and/or other applicable design documents. FAI Inspectors' job responsibilities also include built-to-print receiving inspections. This position reports directly to Quality Control Supervisor


* More than 80% proficient in use of Inspection Equipment (Smart Scope, CMM, Optical Comparator)
* Proficient in use of GD&T
* Proficient in use of Minitab (or any statistical analysis software)
* Proficient in creating inspection plans
* Proficient in preparing FAI Reports for Medical Value Streams
* Proficient in coordinating NCRs and Stock Sweeps
* Prepares inspection reports, rejection data and metrics as necessary

*Other duties as required in support of the department and the company*


* This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities

* High School Diploma or GED
* 2 years FAI experience, preferably with cable assemblies and wiring harnesses
* Ability to read a wide variety of blueprints
* Thorough understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 is preferred
* Working knowledge of inspection techniques and instruments
* Excellent reading, writing and mathematical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure in meeting time schedules
* Ability to work overtime, as needed
* Ability to work effectively with all employees and supervisors
* Computer Skills, experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)


* High School Diploma or GED
* 2 years FAI experience, preferably with cable assemblies and wiring harnesses


* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
