Job Description

Performs First Article Inspections per AS9102 and Carlisle's own work instructions and processes, which consists of a complete, independent, and documented physical and functional inspection process to verify that prescribed production methods have produced an acceptable item as specified by engineering drawings, planning, purchase order, engineering specifications, and/or other applicable design documents. FAI Inspectors' job responsibilities also include built-to-print receiving inspections

Inspects in-process and/or finished production assemblies for conformance to required workmanship standards
Completes and is proficient at Partial/Delta FAIs for IFE product
Completes and is proficient at Bag and Tag kits inspection
Completes and is proficient at receiving inspection tasks
Reads and interprets various customer drawings and industry specifications
Utilizes the internet for research capacity purposes
Utilizes Discus FAI software
Regular and predictable on-site attendance

General understanding of AS9100 standard is preferred
Certification to IPC-620 and J-STD workmanship standards is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communications in English language
Working knowledge of inspection techniques and instruments such as calipers, micrometers, microscopes, etc.)
Computer Skills, experience and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent internet research skills
Ability to work under pressure in meeting time schedules
Ability to work overtime, as needed
Ability to work effectively with all employees and supervisors

High School Diploma or GED
1 year of inspection experience as an EAIIQ or EAIII or equivalent external training experience
Minimum of 1-year experience in reading, interpreting, communicating advanced blueprints/drawings and Customer specifications

Must maintain industry certifications as applicable to position and value stream that is supported. Including but not limited to; IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-JSTD-001, IPC-610, IPC-600 and NASA 8739

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

This position may/may not require passing annual eye testing as required by customers for production activities. If required, exams will be provided by a medically qualified/trained person and shall be paid for by the company.
