Summary

Responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems.



Essential Functions


• Initiate and develop standard procedures, methods and designs involving engineering.
• Increasing productivity through the support and leadership of people, processes and technology.
• Lead, support, mentor and recruit a highly skilled Engineering staff.
• Develop and maintain all related metrics and KPI's
• Manage and provide guidance to project managers and engineers ensuring project milestones are realized.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to engineering personnel providing practical, efficient and cost effective designs.
• Determine best allocation of engineering personnel resources for meeting project milestones.
• Promote equipment and system standardization.
• Perform engineering calculations and generate layouts as required.
• Ensure operations manuals are complete and accurate.
• Establish an injury-free workplace by applying knowledge in electrical/mechanical safety codes and guidelines.
• Understand and apply Carlisle Operating Systems (COS) standards and methodologies.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement for the engineering department.
• Partner closely with Corporate Engineering Department on existing and new product development and lunch.
• Manage the process of design changes.
• Collaborate with all areas / departments within the plant to ensure the optimal results with regard to safety, quality and productivity.
• Performs all other assigned duties.



Minimum Qualification


• Bachelors in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field
• Ten or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
• Three years of management experience
• Proficiency with Mazak 5 axis machining
• CNC Programming, including the use of MasterCam and SolidWorks
• Machining and Tooling Applications
• Experience with Tooling design and Set up
• High level of competency with project management.
• Leadership skills and the ability to motivate people to create value and eliminate waste



Preferred Qualification


• Master in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
• Demonstrated competency applying lean/Six Sigma tools
• Proficient in software applications specific to position requirements
