Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Project Engineer to be part of our high-performing and cross-functional Case Engineering Team to design products for FoodService, Healthcare and Sanitary/Janitorial markets. You will interface with team members specializing in Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Sales

The role incorporates aspects of project management as well as product design utilizing 3D CAD. You will apply your high level of technical expertise in designing for manufacturing and judgment in evaluating complex issues and developing innovative solutions to produce the best in market products. This position will combine knowledge of engineering principles and project management skill sets to develop comprehensive plans to track and coordinate major projects, from conception through completion.





DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Develops new products from concept to production, and brings ideas to life by creating innovative designs with the end user in mind.
• Manages multiple projects and leads cross-functional teams to release new products to production on time and within budget.
• Recommends practices that will result in cost savings, production optimization, and quality improvements.
• Works directly with internal and external customers and vendors.
• Functions independently in making sound decisions to support product development and business goals.
• Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills to perform root cause analysis, propose solutions, and validate change effectiveness.
• Lead role in reviewing functional specifications, cost targets, and mechanical design requirements.
• Responsible for engineering change control process pertaining to projects, and ensure audit-readiness environment
• Functions as a team leader to guide projects through manufacturing release.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


• High level of experience in new product design in SolidWorks, minimum 7 years.
• Knowledge of plastic design, specification and testing fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of cross-functional team.
• Proven success in leading a cross-functional product development team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills; strong relationship building skills.
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.





QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:


• BS degree in Plastics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of product development and project management experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Proficiency in 3D solid and surfacing modeling in SolidWorks
• Extensive experience in injection molded plastics design, tooling and assembly methods.
• Must be ready, willing and able to travel to domestic and international vendors to discuss technical issues.
