Job Description

SUMMARY



The Process Engineer utilizes engineering principles, processes, and methods to meet customer-based quality standards in the most cost-effective manner. They resolve technical problems that would significantly affect manufacturing and product development schedules. Through the application of statistical tools, they create processes that are capable and in control.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



* Obey safety rules and promote plant safety initiatives
* Analyze process variation and develop solutions leading to the implementation of corrective action
* Core team member for Product and Process Risk Analysis
* Participate in value stream team, productivity, product quality, safety, and waste meetings/projects within area of responsibility
* Accumulate technical data to determine equipment performance specifications
* Create/maintain CAD drawings

*Other duties may be assigned

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES



* Capable of leading project assigned resources for successful completion.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

EXPERIENCE

Experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required.











SPECIFIC COMPETENCY

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations

* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

* Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

* Ability to apply algebraic and statistical tools for analysis of product and process

* Ability to use of MS Office software including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project

* Ability to use project management tools such as charter, risk register, and timeline



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
* Frequently required to stand and walk
* Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
* Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
* Specific vision abilities required, i.e. close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus



WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

This is an air-conditioned facility with many pieces of equipment that produce heat. The following are potential items encountered: fumes, dust, noise, hazardous/toxic chemicals. Appropriate training is provided and documented based on job placement that complies with OSHA and EPA regulations.



PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

ASTM F--2412--2005, ANSI Z41--1999, or ANSI Z41--1991 rated safety toed shoes and clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses are required for the job.
